Ultrasound for Life Program

• The Ultrasound for Life Program is an effort to raise funds for the purchase of Ultrasound Systems at qualified Prolife Pregnancy Centers throughout Washington State.  The knights of Washington State are working with an all volunteer organization called 4US (http://www.4US.org).  All funds donated will go toward the purchase of Ultrasound Systems.  The Supreme Council announced at the Supreme Convention in Phoenix in August 2009 it had started a program that will pay 1/2 of the cost of Ultrasound Systems for qualified pregnancy centers.  This year we are encouraging each council and assembly that is able to help this program be a success in one of two ways.

  1. Make a direct donation to Washington State Secretary Don Mc Bride.  Checks should be made out to The Knights of Columbus with Ultrasound for Life in the memo field. 

  2. Create a team and enter in the 4US Rythm of Life Flagship Event.  This is a Ride, Run, Walk and Family Fun Festival at Pt. Defiance Park, Owen Beach on September 25th, 2010.  When you create a team, make sure to tell Frank Tyson (prolife@kofc-wa) .  Click on the following links for more information.  You will need Acrobat Reader to view and print the linked documents.

     1. Detail instruction on forming a team for Flagship Event as well as information on the Ride, Run, Walk and Family Fun Festival.

     2. 4US Flyer which can be used as a handout to promote the event and recruit team members.

     3. Pledge sheet which team members will use to keep track of pledges from friends, family and others for your team member's participation.

Pro Life Elevated to its Own Category

• At the Supreme convention in Phoenix in August 2009, it was announced that the Pro-Life activities are reported as its own category rather than being reported under the Category of Community.  This means there are now six categories that need to have activities reported to qualify for Star Council Award.  They are Church, Council, Community, Family, Pro-Life, and Youth.
